Shows

All shows can be given in English, on request.

Atomresan

An Atom's journey

An experimental show through time - from an atom's perspective. Visitors get to learn more about the atom's structure, life and impact.

Fossil med Johan

Fossil and Geology show

The most well-known fossils are dinosaurs, but there are fossils of almost all types of animals and plants.

Kemishow

Chemistry show

A spectacular chemical show with four different themes: gases, colors, lights and fires and explosions.

Quantumshow

Quantum show

A physics show that takes you on a journey through waves, music, energy, light, color and laser light.

Robotshow

Robot show

Robots can seem magical at any time - but a computer, a mobile phone or a robot just follow instructions, they do what we humans have decided to do.

Bajsresan

A Poop show

Do you belong to those who have always wondered how and above all why something that looks so good on the plate always ends up as a brown "poop", which smells bad!

Hjärnshow

Brain show

Try some tricks to train your brain and listen to what happens when you learn something new.

Ljudshow

Sound show

Through fart sounds, pushes and screams, you become part of a series of sound experiments.

Rigmors musikraket

Musical Rocket with Rigmor

Rigmor takes us on a journey from the smallest atom, through our solar system and all the way to Pluto.

Luft och vattendemonstration

Air and Water demonstration

Can you weigh air? How does a tornado occur? What happens at the boiling point. In several smaller experiments it is illustrated that water is also in the air - we create clouds!

An Atom's journey

An experimental show through time - from an atom's perspective.

With red-hot and super-cold experiments, we travel from the Stone Age to modern times with the help of human curiosity and ingenuity. With the human drive of wanting to understand the outside world, visitors become aware of the atom's structure, life, and impact. In the suitcase, we have packed clues to experiments that talk about how the atom is built, the excitation of the electron and the ideal gas law.

A show for everyone from 5 years and up.

An atom's perspective show is inspired by Stig Olsson's "Chemical History Tablets", reworked and shown by Stefan Zamudio, educator at Vattenhallen.

A Poop show

Do you belong to those who have always wondered how and above all why something that looks so good on the plate always ends up as a brown "poop", which smells bad! This digestive music adventure is a musical journey that follows the path of food all the way down to the terminus!

Rigmor Grönwall is a musical artist who has participated in productions such as Cabaret, Pippi, Annie, Grease, Cats and High School Musical at Nöjesteatern in Malmö. And at Malmö Opera & Music Theater, in productions such as Kaspar Hauser and Nine.

Fossil and Geology show

The most well-known fossils are dinosaurs, but there are fossils of almost all types of animals and plants. We are visited by researchers from the Department of Geology at Lund University, who show different fossils - some of them several hundred million years old! We also learn about how the world has changed through the millions of years, about volcanoes and continental plates, and get some geological excursion tips around Skåne.

You can also take a closer look and feel the fossils, ask questions and experience a journey through time.

Brain show

Try some tricks to train your brain and listen to what happens when you learn something new.

In this show, we test some tricks to train the brain and talk about what happens when you learn something new, read your homework and how dogs and dolphins can be trained. We also try to answer questions such as how wise (or stupid) the brain is, whether it is good to forget or whether it is possible to fool the brain!

The show ends with the dog Neville showing off his best tricks!

A show for everyone from 5 years and up.

The Brain Show is created and shown by Monica Almqvist, senior lecturer at the Department of Biomedical Technology, LTH and director of Vattenhallen.

Chemistry show

Molecules Available is a spectacular chemical show with four different themes: gases, colors, lights and fires and explosions. The show is 45 minutes with 2-3 chemists on stage, music, light and sound. The Chemistry show offers a breathtaking journey into the wonderful world of chemistry.

The Chemistry Show started in the summer of 2008 and has since been refined and new attempts have been made. Today, it has its home stage in Vattenhallen and Ulf Ellervik, professor of Organic Chemistry, is responsible for the project.

Sound show

In this show you are taken on a journey among dolphins and ultrasound devices. Through fart sounds, pushes, and screams, you become part of a series of sound experiments where you get to learn about how sound is created and what words such as sound speed, frequency and infrasound mean.

A show for everyone from 5 years and up.

The Sound Show is created and shown by Monica Almqvist, ultrasound researcher and senior lecturer at the Department of Electrical Measurement Technology, LTH. Read more about ultrasound research at LTH (new tab).

Air and Water demonstration

Air is matter and contains gases.

During this spectacular demonstration, we ask questions such as: can you weigh air? how does a tornado occur? or what happens at the boiling point. In several smaller experiments it is illustrated that water is also in the air - we create clouds!

Fun facts:

Ideal gas law  -  pV=nRT   (pressure * volume = number of molecules * gas constant * temperature)

- where P, V and T are the pressure, volume and temperature; n is the amount of substance; and R is the ideal gas constant.

Quantum show

A physics show that takes you on a journey through waves, music, energy, light, colour, and laser light. The show illutrates the micro and nano world that the researchers at the MAX IV laboratory work with daily.

This show was originally developed by Stanley Micklavzina, a physics instructor from the University of Oregon, Eugene Oregon USA. His expertise is in physics education and the use of physics demonstrations to demonstrate scientific principles. Today the show is run and further developed by Roland Johansson, secondary school teacher at Katedralskolan in Lund.

Musical Rocket with Rigmor

Rigmor is passionate about capturing glitters from 3 to 100 years! This is a show she has created for anyone who is still in their prime (or never left it). In the interactive performance Rigmor's music rocket - a musical adventure, she takes us on a journey from the smallest atom, through our solar system and all the way to Pluto.

Robot Show

A show that takes you on a journey into the world of robots.

Robots can seem magical at any time - but a computer, a mobile phone or a robot just follow instructions, they do what we humans have decided them to do.

During the robot show we have fun with programming! We learn to program and control a robot and we look for answers to what robots are good at and how a robot can perceive its surroundings. We are inspired by the robot NAO and perform a robot dance together.

A show for everyone from 5 years and up.

The film shows the robot Nao when he does Tai Chi. The robot show is produced and shown by Rolf Niemann, educator at Vattenhallen.
